Our staff is filled with dental professionals who share the same core values: service, education, and family. Ranging from veterans to a few newcomers, our team has studied dentistry from various corners in the world. Get to know us.

Lorna L. Okada, D.D.S., Inc

Dr Okada has enjoyed being a dentist since she graduated from University of the Pacific Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry in 2001 (San Francisco, CA). Prior to which she completed her undergraduate studies at University of the Pacific (Stockton, CA) and spent a year after dental school at a residency program at University of California San Francisco (AEGD @ Buchanan clinic). Born and raised in Honolulu, HI, Dr. Okada has enjoyed settling down in San Jose with her husband and two wonderful children. In her limited free time she enjoys spending time with loved ones, travelling, music, and eating good food.

Dr. Julia Truong

Dr. Julia Truong grew up in the Bay Area, and from a young age she has always been curious about how the human body functions.
 
She received her Bachelor’s in Human Biology from the University of California, Berkeley and her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she received the Dean’s Award for Leadership and the Academy of General Dentistry’s Outstanding Senior Student Award.
 
She is passionate about providing quality dental care to her community so her patients can maintain a beautiful smile and live a healthy life.
 
While she’s not seeing patients at the office, Dr. Truong is spending valuable time with friends and family, most likely discovering hiking trails and new restaurants around town. She also has somewhat of a sweet tooth, so if she bumps into you at Salt & Straw, she promises not to remind you about flossing.

Andrew

RDHAP

Andrew, RDHAP, BS, brings two decades of experience to his role as a dental hygienist. Known for his compassionate care and patient education, Andrew strives in providing exceptional dental services. His commitment to oral health extends beyond the clinic through his work with the special needs community and his continued education. In his free time, Andrew enjoys exercising, learning about anything and everything, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Amber

RDA

Amber brings a blend of expertise and warmth to our Ohana Okada dentistry, as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), working alongside me for 9 years now. With her gentle touch, Amber excels in assisting our dentists with a wide range of procedures, helping our patients achieve their goals with their smiles. Her compassionate approach to pediatric dentistry makes her a favorite among our youngest patients, as she strives to make each visit a positive and memorable experience.
Outside of the office, Amber treasures spending quality time with her husband and their adorable puppy. Whether they’re exploring scenic hiking trails or simply enjoying each other’s company at home, Amber cherishes every moment spent with her loved ones. As a dedicated Cowboys fan, you can often find her cheering on her favorite team during football season, adding an extra touch of excitement to her weekends. Amber’s unwavering dedication to her patients, combined with her vibrant personality, make her an invaluable member of our dental team.

Betty

RDH

Betty has been working in the dental field since 2017. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at Foothill College’s Dental Hygiene Program and joined the Okada Ohana team in 2023. She has a passion for helping others and values the connections she makes with patients. Her goal is for patients to have a positive experience every time they step foot into the office. When she is not working, she values her time with her loved ones and two Pomeranians. She enjoys going on long runs, road trips to the beach, Costco runs and embarking on new food adventures.

Emanuel

RDA

Emanuel fills the room with enthusiasm. He loves to learn and grow as a person. His positivity combined with his enthusiasm make him a essential part of our team. Emanuel’s goal is to pursue Dental Hygiene to become a dental hygienist. Beyond work, Emanuel is often reading books, hiking, trying new food, and is also a very talented musician who plays guitar with his band on the weekends. 

Melina

RDA

With over six years of experience in the dental field, Melina brings a creative eye and a deep passion for patient care to everything she does. As a Registered Dental Assistant fluent in English and Spanish, she ensures every patient feels understood, supported, and comfortable. Melina works closely alongside both doctors, assisting in a wide range of procedures with a special focus on cosmetic dentistry. She enjoys the artistic side of dentistry, especially using advanced CEREC technology to design precise, beautiful restorations. Melina also serves as the in-office whitening technician, helping patients achieve brighter, more confident smiles. Her dedication to excellence and aesthetics means every cosmetic case is handled with both technical skill and creative vision. Outside the office, Melina loves creating meaningful experiences and memories—whether trying new foods, staying active at the gym, or traveling to new places with her husband. She delights in discovering new cultures, flavors, and destinations, and values quality time with family and friends. Melina’s vibrant personality and dedication make her a vital part of our team.
 

Lilia

RDH

Known for her kind and compassionate patient care, Lilia has dedicated 26 years to the dental field, 19 of those years with Dr. Okada. She is a detail oriented dental hygienist that brings a wealth of applied knowledge and focus to the team. Her realistic and collaborative approach to tailoring oral health care plans, creates a dynamic experience that all patients can appreciate. Lilia is a part of the Ueno Center Hygiene Study Club and continually seeks to stay updated on the latest advancements in the field to provide the highest quality of care to her patients. Beyond her technical expertise, what sets Lilia apart is her ability to connect with patients on a personal level to create trusting relationships based on empathy and understanding. You can often find her enjoying weekends with her family exploring hidden gems around the Bay Area, or binge-watching their favorite shows and movies. She enjoys spending time in the kitchen with her loved ones cooking and baking her family recipes and trying new ones from different cultures as well.

Loren

Treatment Coordinator

Loren brings over 8 years of experience in the front office as an appointment coordinator. With extensive expertise in insurance and treatment planning, she is well-equipped to assist patients with any questions they may have. Loren extends a warm welcome to all patients and is committed to providing efficient assistance with the best of her knowledge. She looks forward to helping patients navigate their insurance, treatment plans, and billing needs—ensuring a positive experience with our Okada Team.

Outside of work, Loren enjoys creating meaningful memories with her daughter and cherishes moments shared with her beloved family and friends.

Shana

RDH

Shana has been dedicatedly serving as a Dental Hygienist under the exceptional mentorship of Dr. Okada since 2014. Graduating from Carrington College in 2013, Shana has been extensively trained in technique-sensitive procedures aimed at safeguarding overall health by addressing inflammatory responses that impact every system of the body. As a laser-certified professional, Shana is committed to delivering cutting-edge treatments for optimal oral wellness. Beyond her clinical expertise, Shana is passionate about patient education, often weaving fun analogies into discussions to make oral health concepts more relatable. In Shana’s downtime, she cherishes traveling adventures with her husband and daughter, as well as exploring local culinary delights. Shana’s love for cats is undeniable; she’s the kind of person who can’t resist stopping to say hello to every neighborhood cat on her daily stroll, earning her the title of the local “Cat Whisperer.” When not exploring new horizons, Shana can be found in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes. Next time you visit, don’t hesitate to bring along your favorite recipes or share pictures of your adorable pets – Shana would be thrilled to swap recommendations and stories!

Steven

Hygiene Coordinator

Steven has been providing client care for over a decade. Originally from the makeup industry, he has made his way around and transitioned into the dental field since 2021.  Steven has a passion for making people feel great and being such a good support system for them. Steven has been with our practice since April of 2024, taking over Dr. Okada’s hygiene department. The role he plays in the office is vital and allows him to connect on a daily basis with patients. Occasionally, Steven can be found watching the latest movies or attending raves. The goal of Steven is to make a difference in the dental industry as well as to create a safe environment where anyone can feel at ease.

Thao

Billing Coordinator

Born and raised in San Jose, Thao is a dedicated accounts professional with a knack for keeping finances organized and accurate. When not balancing numbers, I’m a proud mom of 6 kids and wife to a supportive sweetie, enjoying family time and creating memories together.
